**YOU MUST ASK FOR A FACULTY REFERENCE**
- Get started right away. Every applicant is required to provide at least one faculty reference (instructors only). This can take some time. Don’t delay. Recommendation: Ask a few instructors to provide references in hopes of getting at least one completed. Failure to provide a completed reference will disqualify you from eligibility.
- Grammar and spelling count. Use word processing software (such as Word) to spell/grammar check your essay answers. Then simply copy/paste into the application.
- Know your career goals. Provide details. What do you want to do? Where? By when? How will you accomplish your goals? Scholarship winners typically know exactly what they want to do after graduating from MATC.
- Tell your story. With hundreds of applications being submitted, you need to stand out.
